TATA Advanced Materials Limited (TAML), Bangalore
TAML, a subsidiary of TATA Industries Limited, is a pioneer and leader in composites manufacturing solutions in India, catering to the demands of various sectors across the globe. Housing state-of-the-art infrastructure in a 16-acre facility, TAML employs more than 500 skilled engineers and operators. With increasing demand and aggressive growth targets, TAML realized the need to upgrade from manual spreadsheet planning and analysis to a more efficient production planning and scheduling system.
Scope of Work and Deliverables
The COMPASS Platform, was selected by TAML to optimize production planning and control for their aerospace plant. Looking to increase overall operational efficiency through better planning and scheduling, TAML evaluated a number of different solutions before eventually selecting COMPASS for its ability to accurately capture and account for all complex and critical constraints that are unique to the composites manufacturing process. As part of the scope, our implementation team also supported TAML with clean-up and standardization of operational data and information flow processes in line with best practices. The aim was to provide TAML with accurate and feasible real time decision making capability thereby making shop floor operations more responsive and allowing critical resources to be utilized more efficiently..
The implementation of COMPASS has given TAML the ability to improve on-time delivery, reduce WIP, optimize resource allocation and effectively monitor shop-floor performance.
